A home improvement contractor in southeastern Michigan, specializing in windows, doors, and siding. Fully licensed and insured, and family owned and operated since the first job in 1979.
What started as a small family business has grown into one of the state's most trusted names in home improvement, built on honesty, craftsmanship, and care. For more than four decades we have earned the trust of homeowners the same way: showing up on time, standing behind the work, and delivering results that last.
As Michigan's oldest Pella Certified Installer, we have had a long time to get the details right. And unlike many contractors, we rely solely on our own full-time, in-house installers, which is what keeps quality consistent and communication clear from the first measurement to the final walkthrough.

The company has changed hands once, from Kyle Adkins Sr. to his son Phil, and the trade has not changed at all.
1979
Phil's father, Kyle Adkins Sr., began replacing windows and doors for Downriver homeowners around 1978 and made the company official in 1979. The name on the truck has belonged to the same family every year since.
1995
Around 1995 the company settled into the showroom on Dix Toledo Road that is still home today. It is where you can open and close full-size windows and doors before you decide, rather than choosing from a brochure.
2013
Since around 2013 we have partnered with ProVia, whose entry doors we install. It is a relationship that now runs more than a decade, which is the kind of partner we like to keep.
Certified
Adkins & Sons becomes a Pella Platinum Elite Certified Contractor, the top tier of Pella's installer program, earned through factory training and audited installation quality. The company describes itself as Michigan's oldest Pella Certified Installer.
2020
Phil Adkins became president in 2020, carrying forward the company his father started. Customers still get a direct line to him.
2021
From 2021 on, more and more homeowners across Southeast Michigan started calling, and a small family shop began growing into something much larger.
Today
What began as a family business is now a much larger company, with a larger team of installers and the third generation of the family in the work. The showroom, the name on the truck, and the 15-year labor warranty behind every job have not changed.
