Adkins & Sons has been a Downriver company since 1979. Our showroom is in Southgate, and we replace windows, doors, and siding across Downriver and the wider Southeast Michigan area. Our own employees install every window and door, and the labor warranty is 15 years on windows and doors and 5 years on siding.
What We Do
Wherever you are on this list, every window and door is installed by our own employees, not subcontractors, and the labor warranty is the same in every city: 15 years on windows and doors, 5 years on siding.
Every opening is measured twice and the window is ordered to that exact size, so the unit fits the hole in your wall instead of being trimmed to fit on the day. Vinyl from Pella® and ProVia®, wood from the Pella Lifestyle line, fiberglass on the Duracast® composite.
Entry, French, patio, and storm doors, in fiberglass, steel, or wood. Drafts and sticking usually trace back to a door that no longer meets its weatherstrip, so we replace the whole unit and set it to the opening rather than hang a new slab in an old frame.
Vinyl panels interlock and hang loose on the wall, so they move with Michigan's temperature swings instead of splitting and peeling the way painted wood does. Nothing to scrape and nothing to repaint, and a wide range of colors and profiles.
Cities We Serve
We are Downriver first: the showroom is in Southgate and most of our work is within a few miles of it. The city list further down this page shows how far into Southeast Michigan we go.

Our own employees install every window and door, so the people working on them answer to us.
Every window and door job carries our 15-year labor warranty: the frame set plumb and square, the sealing, the finished trim. One call and we come back.
The estimate is free and happens in your home, with the full price in writing before anything is ordered and no pressure to sign that day.
Installed by a Pella Platinum Elite Certified Contractor, a status earned through factory training and audited installation quality.
Three generations of the Adkins family have worked Downriver since 1979, and a lead installer is still on every job.
Every opening is measured twice and the unit ordered to that exact size, so the window fits the hole in your wall instead of being trimmed on the day.
We install year-round, one opening at a time, so your house is never left standing open to a Michigan winter.
The Full List
The grid above is a selection. This is all of them, and each one opens onto what we install there. If your city is not listed, call and ask rather than assume.
Why It Matters
Plenty of window companies cover a wide map by handing the actual work to whoever is nearest. When the company that sells the job is not the company that shows up, a warranty call two years later turns into a search for whoever held the drill. That is why our own employees install every window and door, never subcontractors. A lead installer is on every job, and the labor warranty comes from us in every city on this page: 15 years on windows and doors, 5 years on siding.

Our Process
Four steps, one point of contact, and a clean home when we leave, wherever you are on the map.
01
We come to your home, measure, listen, and give you straight numbers. Or stop by the Southgate showroom first and see the options in person.
02
Every opening is measured twice, and every window and door is ordered to the exact size of your opening, so installation day has no surprises.
03
Our own factory-trained employees install every window and door. The crew protects your floors and landscaping and hauls away the old materials.
04
We walk the finished job with you and register your labor warranty before we leave: 15 years on windows and doors, 5 years on siding.
Warranty
15
Years Warranty
Every window and door installation is backed by our industry-leading 15-year labor warranty, on top of the manufacturer's coverage on the window itself. If the workmanship ever needs attention, one call and we make it right, at no cost to you.
180 Month
2
Years Warranty
Most window companies stand behind their installation for only a year or two. Once that coverage runs out, drafts, leaks, and seal failures become the homeowner's problem to fix.

Questions
Not sure whether we come out to your street? Call and ask. You will get someone in our Southgate office, not a call center, and the estimate is free either way.

Our showroom is at 13789 Dix Toledo Rd in Southgate, open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is 4,000 sq. ft. with full-size windows and doors on display, so you can open and close them yourself before you decide anything.
Nothing. The in-home estimate is free everywhere we work, and you leave it with the full price in writing before anything is ordered and no pressure to sign that day.
Adkins & Sons employees, factory-trained installers on our own payroll. We don't hand a window or door job to subcontractors, and a lead installer is on every job.
Yes, and that is the reason to hand all three to one company. You get one point of contact, one schedule, and one company behind the labor warranty on all of it, instead of three outfits pointing at each other when something needs attention.
Yes. We have worked Michigan winters since 1979 and install year-round, one opening at a time, so your house is never left standing open to the weather.
